Pinch Killer 4 – Cardiopinch

Pinch Killer 4 – Cardiopinch

We end the year with a new edition of the pinch killer challenge: the cardio pinch! The athlete must complete the greatest number of repetitions within the time limit of three minutes with a standard pinch block (monolithic GBI or similar) in OHP (one hand) mode, with the possibility of alternating right and left hand at his discretion. Regulation: – When lifting, the block must be grasped with one hand only (it is possible to help the setting with the other hand before lifting); – To help make the execution more flexible it is not necessary to use the reference rod for the 15cm, but the lift must be visibly fluid and controlled (even in the negative phase). If the  […]

Global Ranking 2022

Global Ranking 2022

The Global Ranking consists of three classifications which, through a scoring and calculation system, assigns the athlete a value in the three relative specialties, namely: Maximum lifting, repetitions and timed hold. This will determine the strongest, toughest and most well-rounded athletes using GBI equipment! The purpose of this ranking is to motivate the athlete to always give their best in each test, giving the possibility to bring out the strongest athlete in a complete way and not specifically with a single lift. Every year we will elect the most deserving, delivering a certificate that certifies the result, thus rewarding the first three places in the three categories. So here are the names of the deserving athletes of the Grip and  […]

Pinchkiller Challenge 2

Pinchkiller Challenge 2

New and fun challenge proposed by Steffen Knaak based on the previous Pinchkiller with Pinch block! The challenge is to lift a MegaHub (or equivalent Hub of any manufacturer) with one hand, and pass it from hand to hand as many times as possible, pinching the circular hub. REGULATION 1- After having grabbed the Megahub with both hands in double pinch, thus lifting the load, it will be necessary to detach one hand away from the side (as in a side lift), thus starting the count of the first repetition. 2- The transition period in which the Megahub is held with both hands must not last more than 3 seconds. 3- As for other online competitions, the athlete must  […]

Armwrestling Workshop by Ermes Gasparini

Armwrestling Workshop by Ermes Gasparini

Armwrestling Workshop by Ermes Gasparini. We all know the maxim “the train passes only once”, ready to admonish us when, taken by the indecision of a choice, we prevaricate with the risk that this train will pass, leaving us only the dust of its fast going. Well, like thunder out of the blue, my dear friend Antonio Colucci announces the presence of the champion Ermes Gasparini in our beloved Puglia, asking me if I could organize a meeting with the champion in just three days! That was the train that I heard whistling nearby, on which I jumped in order not to risk losing it! For those unfamiliar with the world of arm wrestling, Ermes Gasparini would be the equivalent  […]

PinchKiller Challenge   The challenge is to lift a monolithic (or equivalent 50mm block of any brand) with one hand, and pass it from hand to hand as many times as possible. TARAS Brothers in Hands 2022

TARAS Brothers in Hands 2022

TARAS Brothers in Hands 2022 And we find ourselves competing again, after almost three years the GBI stage returns to its original location, the city of Taranto and therefore with the Taras Brothers in Hands 2022! After imposed social distances, fear of others, discrimination of all kinds, we finally find ourselves embracing ourselves in an atmosphere of celebration and sharing as few can be found in sports environments. Grip Sport, as we know, is a niche sport, but this characteristic seems to embellish its value and hold the participants in a circle of real and fraternal friendship.   Prologue A Taras contest organized shortly in advance causes uncertainty about the real freedom of movement due to the various government decrees.  […]

Strengthen your grip for martial arts

Strengthen your grip for martial arts

Taking advantage of the great potential offered by social networks, I often have the pleasure of interfacing with athletes from the most varied sports fields, some of them very close to Grip Sport, others instead look out with curiosity on the channels of Grip and Bend Italia and are struck and fascinated. Several times I have been asked how a martial arts practitioner should train his grip and with this small article I would like to be able to give a constructive starting point for all those who love martial arts. Karate, Judo, Jiu-jitsu, Kung Fu, Aikido, BJJ, MMA, and many other forms of combat differ from each other in style, philosophy of thought and approach in dealing with the  […]

2 Inch Thumbless Curl Challenge

2 Inch Thumbless Curl Challenge

A new challenge launched by GBI took place in May 2021, which consisted of lifting a two-inch (50 mm) loading pin by grab it without using the thumb and with the arm bent in a curl of about 90 ° , subsequently modified with fewer restrictions on arm flexion to make the feat more feasible and less restrictive. The challenge launched has expanded like wildfire, involving 17 countries around the world for a total of over 70 participants! A great commitment for me, but also a great satisfaction to be the glue that unites countries and cultures from a distance, to give the maximum in a simple but highly motivating sporting gesture! Also in this challenge it was possible to  […]
